Sard means narration

An art and design practice founded in 2024 by Emirati artist and architect Rand Tayfour. We work from Abu Dhabi and Umm Al Quwain across art, furniture, product design, pavilions, cultural research and public installations.

Rand Tayfour

An Emirati artist, architect and multidisciplinary designer who founded Sard Studio in 2024. Her work starts from stories of UAE heritage, archaeology, dress, memory and everyday objects, then moves through drawing, 3D modelling, material studies and hands-on making: woodworking, digital fabrication, mother-of-pearl, metal and glass.

The studio has two voices: Sard Studio for artworks, furniture and pavilions, and Sard .2 for games, kits and workshops.

How we work

    Drawing

    Every project starts as ink drawings.

    Modelling

    3D models and presentation boards.

    Material

    Material studies: clay, cloth, wood, mother-of-pearl, metal and glass.

    Making

    Hands-on making and digital fabrication: woodwork, laser cutting, CNC.
